Locarno Stud was founded in 1990 by Claus Kock, using good quality thoroughbred mares. Locarno Studs' offsprings of the Locarno stallions Locarno Caprivi, Locarno Shogun and Locarno Challenger are highly competetive and do well at the big shows in South Africa, for example presently in the Derby and Shongweni 1.30m and 1.35m classes.
